Greetings from Honolulu, Hawaii ☀️
Many of you have either lived, visited, or have hopes of traveling to this historically rich city. We invite you to take a moment to appreciate the land (ʻāina in Hawaiian) on which we live on and all that it provides for us. Did you know that Waikiki as seen in the photo is a man-made beach? Waikiki used to be an abundant ahupua'a turned whaling port turned resort destination.
Now, let’s jump into Pure Aloha Post #3 Enjoy!

Live By Following Your Heart
Listen closely. Every word and action that comes out of you, no matter how small or large, comes straight from within your heart.
The word “heart” could be used interchangeably or synonymously with the words: love, inner voice, instinct, intuition, or gut. When you speak or act from your heart, you will be doing what you are supposed to do. You will respect and honor yourself by being who you truly are and were born to be.
How?
Be confident in your heart.
It sounds so easy and simple to do. However, in actuality, living by following your heart takes tremendous faith, strength, and courage.
For example, the entire world could be screaming at you as you follow your heart, “Don’t do it!” Nevertheless, it is imperative that you not listen to what the world tells you to do. Be confident in what your heart tells you and do it regardless of what the world says.
Once a decision is made make sure the proper checks are done. Complete an altruism test: see where the motivation is derived from. Is it for solely yourself or for others too?
It is of the utmost importance that you follow your heart which will at times lead you to a road that is less, and at times, never traveled.
Why?
Following your heart is the road to lasting peace and happiness.
Whether you end up last place or not, succeed or fail, it really does not matter. The important thing is that you do what you are ‘supposed’ to do and that means honoring your heart by listening and following what it compels you to do. Don’t question it. Trust it. Be aware that there is a difference between “feelings” and truly “following the heart”. Feelings are fleeting, they come and go, whereas listening to your heart is something that is long-standing that has always been there.
Uncle Clay believes with all of his heart that this will always turn out to be the “right” thing for you.
By living and following your heart, you will receive the beautiful reward of making outcomes irrelevant or secondary.
On top of making outcomes secondary, following your heart leads to the all-important reward. Your best chance to truly be the person that you were born to be. This will bring you a never-ending enduring kind of happiness and peace and is this not what we all seek as we travel through our journey of life? The kind of joy and peace that, nothing nor anyone, can ever take away from us?
Good luck to you as you make the promise to yourself to have the courage to follow your heart. You will be compensated beyond your wildest dreams and imagination if you do learn to trust and obey your heart always. Uncle Clay and the HOPA community believe in you. You can do this. But, of course, more importantly, you have to believe that you can too.
